Automatic Editing

This page describes the Automatic Editing feature of WACHandler that was introduced in version 2.1.

Automatic Editing (or just Auto-Edit) in WACHandler allows changing either the Artist, Album, Genre or Album+Artist information of one or more tracks by just dragging and dropping it/them on a desired information node in the Tree.

For example, imagine a Track with the following information :
 Title  = Run like Hell
 Artist = Pink Floyd
 Album  = The Wall
 Genre  = Rock

If this track is dragged 8with the left mousebutton) and then dropped on a node under Albums, let's say an Album namned "The Wall (live)", the Album info of the track will automatically be changed to "The Wall (live)".

An example on editing both Artist and Album at the same drop is when a track is dropped on an Album name under an Artist node, imgaine a structure like this :

Albums
Artists
  ABBA
  AC/DC
  Bangles
  Cranberries
  Pink Floyd
  U2
    The Joshua Tree
    War
Genres
All tracks
  Run like Hell

Now, if the "Run like Hell" track is dropped on the "War" node, which is under the "U2" node, the track info will automatically be changed to have Album = War and Artist = U2.
If the track is dropped on the "U2" node, only the Artist is changed to "U2", the album name will remain "The Wall".

This behaviour can of course be turned of from the Linked & Auto Edit tab in the Settings window :

Auto Edit setting

Note : Auto-Edited tracks does not trig a Linked Edit !
